For precise visual indication of valve position, our Outside Screw & Yoke (OS&Y) Globe Valve models are ideal. Operators can choose from Handwheel Operated models for manual control, Gear Operated Globe Valves for easier operation of larger valves, or fully automated Electric Actuated Globe Valve systems for integration into modern process control networks.
The foundation of a reliable valve lies in its material. Our standard body and bonnet are crafted from ASTM A216 WCB cast steel, a carbon steel material known for its excellent mechanical properties and pressure integrity. We offer a range of pressure classes, including the widely used Cast Steel Globe Valve Class 150 and Class 300, suitable for various system requirements. For applications involving even higher pressures, we provide valves with a Pressure Seal Bonnet design, which enhances sealing capability as internal pressure increases.
To ensure seamless integration into any piping system, we offer valves with all standard end connections. These include the common Flanged Cast Steel Globe Valve, Socket Weld Globe Valve for permanent, leak-free small-bore connections, and Buttweld End Globe Valve for high-integrity welded services in critical high-temperature and high-pressure lines.

ShieldTM Globe Valve, generally, has three Patterns with different applications.
T Pattern Globe Valve
The standard design for general shut-off applications. Features a Z-shaped flow path with the disc moving perpendicular to the seat.
Y Pattern Globe Valve
Designed to minimize pressure drop. The seat and stem are angled at approximately 45 degrees to the pipe axis.
Angle Globe Valve
Eliminates one pipe elbow by turning the flow direction by 90 degrees. Ideal for applications with frequent cycling.
Beyond standard shut-off, ShieldTM engineer solutions for complex flow control challenges. Our Cast Steel Stop Check Valve combines the functions of a globe valve and a check valve, preventing reverse flow while allowing manual override. For applications requiring minimal pressure drop, we offer Full Port designs. Specific dimensional and pressure needs, such as a 3 Inch 800 LB Globe Valve, can be met with our custom-configurable options, including models specifically engineered as High Temperature Cast Steel Globe Valves.

1 Stem Nut: Long thread stem nut prolongs thread life and permits the removal of hand wheel in the fully open position.
2 Spacer ring: Spacer ring in conjunction with packing is used in globe valves of 300 class and above while 150-class valves are only fitted with packing.
3 Gasket: Flexible graphite gasket used for 150 Class gate valve, spiral wound gasket for Class 300 & 600 valves and metal ring gasket for valves of 900 or greater Class.
4 Guide: Integral guide inside body keeps wedge self-centered during valve opening and closing.
5 Disc: One piece flexible disc provides accurate alignment of mating seating surfaces so the valve can absorb piping strains without leakage. Also, it avoids any tendency to stick in the seated position.
6 Stem: The tee-head disc-stem connection prevents lateral strain on the stem for smooth, easy operation. Accurately cut threads engage the yoke sleeve for positive control of disc position.
7 Integral Bonnet/Yoke: All bonnet assemblies are cast and finished to the same exacting tolerances as the bodies for accurate alignment of stems and ease of sealing.
8 Seat: Renewable seal welded seats with stellite 6 are standard design while screwed-in seats are optional.
