How It Works: Triple Offset Principle

The triple offset butterfly valve operates on three distinct offset principles:

  • First Offset: The shaft is located behind the centerline of the seat, creating a cam action during operation
  • Second Offset: The shaft is positioned behind the centerline of the pipe, allowing the disc to move away from the seat
  • Third Offset: The seat cone angle is offset from the pipe centerline, enabling metal-to-metal sealing

This combination of offsets ensures that the disc only contacts the seat at the point of full closure, eliminating friction and wear during operation. The result is a valve that maintains its sealing integrity over thousands of cycles with minimal maintenance.
